Obituary of Frank Vincenzo DiSomma

Frank "Ciccio" DiSomma, age 80, died on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Contursi, Italy he grew up in Lioni, Italy and moved to Plainfield in 1958, before residing in North Plainfield for forty-one years. Frank was the owner/operator of Frank's Gulf Gas Station in Middlesex from 1975 to 1995. He served in the Italian Army for two years and was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in North Plainfield. He enjoyed making wine and his yearly trips back to Italy to see family and friends. Frank was a proud man who dedicated his whole life to his family, friends and customers ever since moving to America in 1958 his hard work, loyalty and passion have touched us all. We are truly saddened to see "Ciccio" go, but his fond memories will go on forever. Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years Victoria Nittoli DiSomma; his sons Carmine and his wife Chris of Sparta; Anthony and his wife Nancy of Bound Brook; his brother Salvadore of Italy; sisters Fulvia Porciello and Sofia Deltufo of Canada; 5 grandchildren Frankie, Nicholas, Claudia, Nico and Sabrina. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7th, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in North Plainfield followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
