Obituary of Shelton E. Wilson

Shelton E. Wilson Plainfield: Shelton E. Wilson, age 73, died on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at JFK Medical Center in Edison with his family at his side. Born in Johnston County, NC, he resided in Raleigh, NC before moving to Plainfield in 1957. Shelton was a Machinist with ITW previously Thielex in Piscataway, NJ for 38 years before retiring in 2003. Mr. Wilson was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Plainfield. His special interests included watching TV, especially Star Trek, Law & Order and Old Westerns; taking walks in the park, dancing and singing. He is survived by his wife, Mary Dixon Wilson; two sons, Terry of MD and Ben of NJ; three daughters, Virginia, Jacquie(Ronald Nichols) and Sheila E. all of Plainfield; one brother, Norman (Audrey) of Piscataway; a sister, Mary Dixon of Raleigh, NC; 14 grandchildren, sharing a special bond with three of his grandsons, Vaughn, Lorenzo and TJ; and 7 great grandchildren. He was a special father figure to Donjia of NJ and Johnnette of PA. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Booker T. Wilson. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm Funeral Service at The United Church of Christ, 220 West 7th Street, Plainfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield.
