Obituary of Helen Mary LaPiere

Helen M. (Constandi) LaPiere Beloved, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Fanwood: Helen M. Constandi LaPiere, born December 10, 1932, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Norwood Terrace in Plainfield. Helen lived in the Plainfield, Fanwood area her entire life. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Plainfield and held a banking career during her working years. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scotch Plains and St. Joseph Church in North Plainfield. Survived by her three children, Reginald (Kathleen) LaPiere of SC, Nancy (Michael) DiCenso of Phillipsburg and Mary Jo (Nick) Catania of Green Brook; five grandchildren, Reginald LaPiere, Jr., Michele Marie Wilson, Peter DiCenso, Nicole and Elizabeth Catania; five great grandchildren, Emily Rose, Jillian, Sophia, Rebecca and Lydia. Also survived by a sister, Mary Sorbo and a brother, Dominick Constandi. Predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 9:15 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 am Mass of Resurrection at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scotch Plains and interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation Monday 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation ( www.kidney.org) or the National Arthritis Foundation ( www.arthritis.org).
