James E. Keating Jr posted a condolence

I always admired Garrett for both his erudition and his sense of humor. At all too infrequent family gatherings we always seemed to seek each other out an engage in great conversation. He was a pleasure to listen to with his wide ranging knowledge and great wit. I wish I had had more opportunities to spend time with him. I know my father loved him like a brother and they shared many life experiences together.

I will remember Dr. Keating was one in a million. He was my mother's OB/GYN as well as mine. There isn't a more compassionate, caring individual than Dr Keating. I will always remember him. My sincere sympathy goes out to his family for this loss

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Dr Garrett Keating. Garry was a person of great integrity and compassion. Not only was he a good friend all thru school, but continued to be as we worked together on the PHS Class of 1946 Reunion Committee which was held every five years for fifty years. He was a pillar in the medical community and will be missed by everyone.

Dr. Keating was my mother, Betty Wilford's, doctor and I have fond memories of him as he took wonderful care of my mother who suffered with various medical problems as I was growing up. I also was a patient of Dr. Keating as an adult woman and he was always kind and gentle. He always took his time and had genuine concern for his patients. We will never forget him and I am still a patient at the practce he began.

My sincere sympathies to the
family of Dr. Garrett Keating.
Dr. Keating was my OB/GYN for
many years in Plainfield, NJ,
having delivered one of my
children, and one of my grand-
children. He also was OB/GYN
for my daughters, Wendy and
Pamela. He was a fine man, friend and a brilliant physician. His sons were
friendly with my two sons in
high school. A lovely family.
His loss will be felt greatly
by family, friends and his
many patients in the Plainfield area.

Barbara and I want to offer our thoughts and prayers to all in the Keating family. I remember with fondness the years Garrett and I practiced together 1968-1971 and many fun trips to the farm.

I remember Garry from PHS. Like many we took different trails. As God extended His hand the Doctor rose to go. They will walk through the cool valley and God will hear of family, farm, and many medical stories. How long is the walk to his new home? As long as a memory. Will the grief of loved ones left behind be short and memories forever. In the spring as I stand tall at our family plot I will remember the Good Doctor.

I worked for Dr. Keating both in Plfd and Warren for 10 years. He was the best boss I ever had and the most knowledgeable. He always had a story to tell. I constantly told him that since he always took such good care of the Sisters in the practice, God would definitely let him into heaven. He was very proud of all his sons and loved Betty very much. The farm was his pride and joy. He constantly told me the sisters wanted me to join the convent, but I never beleived him. He had a great sense of humor and was noted at work for his Red Jaguar and His Rat Pack. I will miss him deeply.

Hello Keating family,
I just wanted to send my deepest sorrows to the family of Mr. Keating. We all know death can be very hard on us, but I just wanted to share a brief thought with you. There is a wonderful thought in the Bible at John 5:28 and 29 where Jesus “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
This is a very sobering thought for us to know that we'll be able to see our loved ones one day here on earth.
Would you like to know how?
You can email me at jonest617@yahoo.com

I FIRST MET YOUR DAD WHEN I WAS IN MUHLENBERG SCHOOL OF NURSING.AT OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY HE PLAYED SANTA.ROTATION THROUGH THE OB UNIT WAS MY NEXT OPPOTUNITY.HE WAS SO WELL RESPECTED BY THE NURSING STAFF.I GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBSERVE DR.KEATING IN SURGERY.ONCE AGAIN HE DEMONSTRATED SUCH KINDNESS TOWARD THE OR STAFF.
AS AN RN, DR. AND MRS.KEATING ASKED ME TO CARE FOR THEIR FOUR SONS AND HOME WHILE AWAY ON BUSINESS TRIPS OR SHORT VACATIONS.WHAT A JOY TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN THEIR LIVES AND SEE SUCH LOVE WITHIN THE KEATING FAMILY.
I WAS PRIVILEGED TO WORK WITH DR KEATING AS HE SERVED ON THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS AND I WOULD ATTEND MEETING AS THE DIRECTOR OF QUALITY.HE ALWAYS WOULD TELL ME HOW PROUD HE WAS OF MY ACCOMLISHMENTS.
DR KEATING DELIVERED MY THREE CHILDREN FOR WHICH I AM GREATFUL.I ADMIRED HIS PASSION FOR MUHLENBERG AND HIS GREAT COMPASSION FOR THE PATIENTS AND THE STAFF.
MY LAST VISIT WITH YOUR DAD WAS AT MCCAULY HALL AND I ATTEND MASS WITH HIM.ALTHOUGH HE DID NOT COMMUNICATE VERBALLY WITH ME IT WAS A VERY SPECIAL VISIT.I WILL CHERISH MY MEMORIES OF YOUR DAD.
DR. KEATING IS NOW REUNITED WITH HIS BELOVED WIFE.
