Obituary of Robert Diller

Little Egg Harbor: Robert John Diller, Sr. (Bob) passed away Monday, February 8th, 2010, at his home. Mr. Diller was born in Rahway, New Jersey, November 6, 1951, to the late Shirley Johnston Diller and Harry C. Diller. He attended St. Mary's School, Plainfield High School, and later Union College. Mr. Diller owned and operated his own trucking company until he was seriously injured in an accident several years ago. After a long recuperation, he spent his last two years at his favorite past-time, playing with his children, and being with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Blackman Diller, and his three children, Robert John Diller, Jr. (Jack), 14, and twins, Liam Blackman Diller, and Marykate Diller, 12. He also leaves behind 3 living brothers, Thomas C. of Elmwood Park, New Jersey, and his two sons, Jason and Chad. Richard R. and wife, Jean, of Sryma, Delaware, and their three children, Jessica, Michelle, and Marie, and their four children. His brother, William J. Diller/Laura Cozlowski of The Villages, Florida, and his two daughters, Amy and Kristi Lyn. He is also survived by three sisters; Elizabeth Ann of Scotch Plains, Shirley M. Byrath of East Brunswick, and her daughter Beth Ann, and his sister Sarah Diller, of Old Bridge. He was predeceased by his eldest brother, Harry J. whose wife Linda lives in Wall Twp. and their children, Christopher and Kate. On his wife's side, he is survived by a brother-in-law, Robert B. Blackman of Edison, his wife, Janet A., their son Daniel J., and his wife Sherry. A sister-in-law, Anne E. Horan, of Westfield, her husband Donald P. and their children, Elizabeth and Timothy. He also leaves behind a large, loving extended family, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday February 13, 2010 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ. The visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his loving memory to the Diller Children's Fund; 21 First St. Old Bridge NJ, 08857. Please make checks payable to Sarah Diller.
