Obituary of Robert William Stine

Robert William Stine, age 77, died on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Plainfield and grew up in North Plainfield before moving to Warren 30 years ago. Mr. Stine served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was a carpenter in the Carpenters Local Union 155 of Plainfield for over 36 years. Mr. Stine was a faithful and devoted member of the Gillette Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved his ministry and helping others. He spent his life helping people spiritually and physically. He was a "Jack of all Trades". He loved being a carpenter, fixing cars and spending time in his cabin in Maine, and especially loved time with family and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doris Carr Stine; his daughters, Janice L. Nulle and her husband Timothy of Whiting and Judi L. Importico and her husband Frank of Clinton Township; his brothers, Allen R. Stine (Alice) and Bruce D. Stine and his sister Lois G. Sheeler (Fred). Beloved Pop-Pop to his grandchildren Ashley and her fiance, Dave, Alyssa, Alexandra, Anna-Marie, Paul, Robyn and Benjamin and his great-grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan; three sisters-in-law Virginia Marlin (Larry), Joan Johnston (Jack) and Kathryn Payne. He is also survived by dear nieces and nephews and many dearly loved friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20th from 1 to 4 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 4 p.m. funeral talk. Cremation is private.
