Olivia Reynolds

Obituary of Olivia Reynolds

Olivia (Livi) Gwen Reynolds, oldest daughter of Ainsley and Da'Shawn Reynolds, passed away on February 26, 2010, at NYU Langone Medical Center after leading a valiant fight, at the tender age of five. Olivia was born on July 15, 2004 in Somerville, New Jersey. Olivia loved to sing and dance as well as play ball and go to the park. Her favorite television show was Dora the Explorer. Throughout the years, she obtained "many" Dora dolls, DVDs, pictures, bags, jewelry, kitchen sets, pajamas, and numerous other things adorned with "Dora." Olivia was thrilled every time she went to The Macy's Parade; however, she got the most joy out of "going to the hotel" several times a year. While Livi loved to eat cornbread, her favorite thing of all to eat was cheese, cheese and more cheese! If asked what her favorite colors were, Olivia would respond, "pink and green (of course)..and purple too!" Olivia was the biggest inspiration of all to her younger sister, Mya Ellen. Together they enjoyed playing with dolls, having tea parties, dressing up, riding bikes, running, giggling and just plain having fun all the time, doing things that only sisters would do. Olivia had a kind heart, a twinkle in her eyes and an amazing smile (if you were lucky enough to get one out of her). Olivia attended Community Christian Academy and Preschool (formerly CBCA) at the age of two. While she learned who God and Jesus were at home, it was at school that she began to develop her understanding of God. Olivia would participate in her school programs and sing their songs. At the age of five, Olivia attended Kindergarten at Conerly Road School until she became ill on December 3, 2009. Although quiet and shy, Olivia touched the hearts of those who knew her. While we know she was taken away too soon, God ultimately has his own agenda for her. Olivia was an angel with her presence here and she will continue to be an angel looking over us until she meets with her family again. Even though Olivia had a brief stay with us, she has completed her assignment here on earth and will be extremely missed by all. Cherishing her memory are parents, Ainsley and Da'Shawn Reynolds; sister, Mya Ellen Reynolds; maternal grandmother, Lenore Scurry; grand aunt, Andrea Scurry; great aunt, Mary Johnson; cousin, Robert Mero (Scooter) deceased, cousin Renard Haynes; cousin, Tia Harris; paternal grandmother, Valry Reynolds; paternal grandfather, Leroy Reynolds; aunt and uncle, Patrick & Denise Reynolds; aunt, Cynthia Reynolds; uncle, Courtney Reynolds; cousins, Jenneth & Hughroy Williams, Michael Butler, Christina Reynolds, Ashanti Reynolds, Patrick Reynolds Jr., Shawn Reynolds; extended families including Morgans, Binds, Martins, Campbells and Reynolds; hosts of relatives and friends.
