Obituary of Margaret Mehm

Margaret (Mullen) Mehm, age 85, died on Saturday March 13, 2010 at University Hospital in Augusta GA. Mrs. Mehm was born in Somerville, MA and had resided in Bound Brook NJ, North Plainfield NJ and Mundelein IL before moving to Aiken three years ago. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Mehm worked as a teacher's aide in the Montessori School in North Plainfield and as an assistant to the Social Director at the Intergenerational Day Care at Condell Medical Center in IL. She enjoyed bird calling and bird watching, her favorite types were hummingbirds and cardinals. Mrs. Mehm loved being a homemaker, home decorating and sewing. She was known for her quick wit and good will. She is predeceased by her husband John Mehm. She is survived by a son Joseph Mehm and his wife Cheryl; four daughters Joann Meleo and her husband Dr. Richard; Colleen Jones and her husband Ralph; Judith Mango and her husband Daniel; and Patricia Mitchell and her husband John. She is also survived by four grandchildren Adam and Alexis Meleo, John Mehm and John Mitchell; a sister Mary Mahon and a sister-in-law Dorothy Mehm. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069 followed by a 10:00am mass at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in New Providence. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
