Obituary of Donald William Lloyd

Bedminster: Donald William Lloyd, age 77, died on Monday, March 22, 2010 at his home in Bedminster. He was born in Newark and had lived in Hackettstown and Warren before moving to Bedminster in 2009. Mr. Lloyd served in the Navy during the Korean War serving on the USS Corsair, a submarine. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from NJIT. Prior to his retirement in 1985, Mr. Lloyd was the owner and engineer for Casting Associates in Kenilworth, NJ for 22 years. After his retirement, he, along with his wife went to Culinary School. They opened "Perfect Endings", a pastry shop in Three Bridge, working there for 7 years. He also owned and operated a food service at Lab Corp. in Raritan for 8 years. Mr. Lloyd was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren and was a Third Degree Knight at the Knights of Columbus, Council # 11409. He also enjoyed playing cribbage. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Georgianna C. Billerman Lloyd; his son, Christopher D. Lloyd of Edison; his daughters, Jennifer Louchlin of Hackettstown and Catherine "Katie" Kmiec of Germantown, TN; his brothers, George, Lloyd of Elizabeth, Eugene Lloyd of Washington, James Lloyd of Union and Wayne Lloyd of Glen Gardner. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittany Kaunas, Matthew Kaunas and Daniella Lloyd. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26th at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren.
