Obituary of William H. Penn, Sr.

William H. Penn, Sr., age 87, died on Monday March 29, 2010 at his home in Plainfield. He was born and raised in Germantown, PA and served in the United States Army during World War II. He then moved to New Jersey in 1960. Mr. Penn was a member of the Centennial Lodge in Westfield, the American Legion of Plainfield and the National Safety Council and Truckers Association of Washington, DC. He was also a member of the Teamsters, Local 478 of Union. William especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Mae Penn; his 4 children, Linda Penn, Karen Ahmed, Sheila Penn and William H. Penn Jr. Also surviving are his brother, Ralph Penn, his 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 6, at 11:00 am at Higgins Home For Funerals 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Visitation will be on Monday April 5 from 4-8 p.m. Cremation is private.
