Obituary of Gerald Geiger

Gerald "Gerry" Geiger, went to his eternal rest on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Born on September 14, 1916 in Buttzville, New Jersey, he joined the Marine Corps and graduated from Marine Corps Flight School on December 5, 1941. He served two tours of duty in the South Pacific as a fighter pilot. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Major. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1950. Upon his return to New Jersey, he engaged in real estate development in the Bridgewater, Warren and Watchung area. He lived in Warren and then Watchung, moved to Atlantic City in 2003 and returned to Watchung in 2008. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth "Betty" S. Hamm Geiger; a daughter, Nancy Bramaman of TX; a sister, Ruth Carlson of PA and three grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 9:30 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ followed by an 11:30 am Service at the Buttzville United Methodist Church, 4 Greenpond Rd., Buttzville and burial at the Church Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, PO Box 704, Maple Shade, NJ 08052 would be deeply appreciated.
