Obituary of James Patrick Smith
James Patrick Smith, age 58, died on Friday July 12, 2013 at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia PA. Born in Plainfield, Mr. Smith was raised in North Plainfield and had resided in Southern California for many years before moving to Toms River in 2005.
Mr. Smith worked as a cabinetmaker and craftsman for many years both here and in Southern California.
He enjoyed listening to country music, watching the Yankees and he loved animals especially dogs. But most of all Mr. Smith loved spending time with all of his nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Mary Smith and a sister Margaret Mary Beverley.
Surviving are a brother Christopher John Smith and his wife Jackie of AZ and four sisters, RSM Eileen Patricia Smith of Watchung, NJ; Patricia Dandeo and her husband John of Clinton NJ; Anita M. Caswell and her husband Charles of Toms River, NJ and Theresa Flora and her husband Joseph of Toms River. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, fourteen grandnieces and grandnephews and three great grand -nieces and great grand nephews
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday July 18, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel, McAuley Hall, 1633 US Highway 22 Watchung NJ 07069. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung, NJ
