There are so many memories I have of Mary Baxter or "little mom" as I liked to call her. She accomplished so much in her life but what I'll always remember about her were the holidays we spent together. Nancy, "little mom" and I spent quite a few memorable holidays together...having some great conversations, listening to Nancy play the piano. We always had a great time, and I remember how Biscuit, Nancy's dog, would jump up on Mary and since Mary was so tiny, it was such a funny sight to behold. In her 94 years of living, Mary accomplished so much. The three of us would occasionally go out to dinner which were a lot of fun. When Nancy would leave the table, Mary would always tell me how much she loved her life...her girls. I will miss you much, "little mom." God has you in the palm of his hands right now.

Thinking of you Nancy and Vicki during this sad time. Your Mom was an amazing woman who accomplished so much in her life and always did it with a joyful heart.

With sympathy and genuine love of neighbor, may these Bible truths sooth your hearts: God is eager to bring our loved ones back to life (Job 14:13-15) and all of those in the common grave of mankind will be resurrected (John 5:28-29). The Bible can be read or listened to online at www.jw.org.

Mary and I are Birthday buddies. We have exchanged cards for years. She and Bob Lanza sat behind me in the Somerset Valley Orchestra in the Clarinet section for years. With her quick wit, she would make us (young kids) laugh with her words of wisdom. Such a talented woman - a great mentor. Love her books!! She loved playing in the orchestra and when she was having a hard time playing, I would encourage her to play only the pieces she liked. She contributed a lot to the orchestra, being Manager was a big job, and she did a fantastic job. I will miss her greatly!

She was my hero. This was a unique person, strong and gentle, who appreciated life in a way that I adored. She will be forever missed.

About two years ago, Mary and I were taking a long drive to our friend in Pennsylvania, and she told me that she loved being in her nineties. She said that all your life you are wanting something, waiting for something, hoping...but that now she knows to enjoy what she has and to know the luck she has.
I was lucky to be her friend. From her childhood stories ( her dad was a door to door piano salesman in the west) to the love she expressed for her daughters, from discussions about writing novels to playing the clarinet, from the pride she took in her garden to her enthusiasm for the Yankees, Mary was a class act. I will miss her greatly, and send hugs and love to her family.
Mary was a traveller and would understand that I am several thousand miles away, but please know I am there with you in love across the miles.
