Obituary of Ruth P. Stout

Ruth P. Stout, age 86, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at JFK Hospital in Edison. She was born and raised in East Orange and had lived in Plainfield for more than 60 years. Mrs. Stout was a bookkeeper for Prudential starting in 1940's. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was a bookkeeper for Tingly Rubber in South Plainfield. She was a member and past deacon at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Stout was an avid reader and she loved doing cross word puzzles and watching Jeopardy. She is predeceased by her husband, William C. Stout in 2008. Surviving are her sons, William T. Stout and Stephen R. Stout and his wife, Elizabeth of Basking Ridge; her sister, Elizabeth Phulger and her grandchildren, Joseph, Elizabeth, Katherine and Sarah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 3:00 p.m. at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Burial is private. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funeral, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield.
