Obituary of Michael E. Santoro

Michael E. Santoro, age 85, died on Saturday July 31, 2010 at his home in Ringoes. Mr. Santoro was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Hillsborough and Plainfield before moving to Ringoes six years ago. Mr. Santoro worked for All Star Diary in Perth Amboy as a truck for 35 years retiring in 1978. After his retirement, he was employed as a courier for 15 years by Auto Land in Springfield. He was an avid Yankee fan who loved playing the lottery and the horses in Monmouth Park. He is predeceased by his wife Mildred "Millie" Santoro in 2008. Surviving are three sons; Frank J. Santoro and his wife Janet of Ringoes, Michael C. Santoro and his wife Delores of Ringoes and Dino Santoro of North Plainfield; five brothers Angelo "Bucky" Santoro of Frenchtown, Carmen Santoro of Woodbridge, Sam Santoro of NC, Joe Santoro of GA and Matteo "Tootsie" Santoro of Woodbridge; two sisters, Ann Bonaccoro of Clark and Mary Santoro of Woodbridge. Also surviving are five grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Lisa, Matt and Krista. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 5 to 9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung with a funeral service at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation services will be private.
