Obituary of Marie Blejwas

Marie Hubacek Blejwas, age 91, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Raritan Care Center in Raritan. She was born in Plainfield and had lived for most of her life in the home that her father built in Martinsville until moving to Raritan last year. Mrs. Blejwas was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed the outdoors, sitting on her front porch, chocolates and reading. She was a wonderful and loving mother who loved to cook for her family. She always said, "Every day is my birthday when I spend it with my family." She is predeceased by her husband, Walter T. Blejwas, Sr. in 2000 and her siblings, Rudolph Hubacek and Bertha Beecher. Surviving are her children, Walter T. Blejwas, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn of Bridgewater, Thomas E. Blejwas and his wife, Charlene of Sandia, NM and Virginia"Ginny" Leininger of Bridgewater; her grandchildren, John Blejwas and his wife, Jill, Mark Blejwas and his wife Brenda, Amy Sargent and her husband Peter, Donald Blejwas and his wife, Colleen, Emily Awes, Adam Blejwas, Eric Leininger, Andrea Leininger, Valerie Pitts and her husband, Michael and Gregory Leininger. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Cremation is private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
