Obituary of Ruth Marie Lee

Warren: Ruth M. Lee, age 79, died on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Ruth was born in Livingston, NJ to the late Marjorie and William Schachel. After her marriage she lived in Newark, South Plainfield and for the last 32 years, Warren. She graduated from Caldwell High School and worked for the Prudential and American Insurance Companies in Newark. She also worked as a bookkeeper for several area companies. Ruth enjoyed cruising, traveling around the world, reading, gardening, jigsaw puzzles and visiting Long Beach Island, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother and was very proud of her family, she will be greatly missed. She is predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie Gaydick and Adelaide Schachel. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, George A. Lee; her loving children, Kathryn R. Creighton and her husband Thomas, and George A. Lee, Jr., her grandchildren Katie, Timothy and Kyle Lee, and Karin and Jeffrey Creighton, her sister, Barbara Sweeney; her sister in law Dorothy Groh and her husband George, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Cremation will be private. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at the Good Shephard Lutheran Church 300 Union Ave. Somerville NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
