Obituary of Ruth Murphy

Ruth (Wagner) Murphy, age 81, died on Sunday August 29th, 2010 at her home in Green Brook surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Fulda, Germany, she had resided in Brooklyn, NY and Bayonne, NJ before moving to Green Brook 40 years ago. Ruth enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and traveling. She loved spending time with family and friends, and especially treasured time with her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Martin J. Murphy; daughters Linda Dilger and her husband Bruce, and Diane Goldstein and her husband Kevin; sons John Murphy and his wife Christine, and Robert J. Murphy; also surviving are 2 brothers, 6 sisters and 7 grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1st from 7-9 p.m. and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung.
