Obituary of Frank H. Kerney

Frank H. Kerney, age 81, died on Monday, July 22, 2013, at his home in Watchung. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York he resided in Scotch Plains before moving to Watchung thirty-two years ago, he also has resided in Sarasota Florida for 30 years. Frank served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Kerney Service Group, a ship repair company with locations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Baltimore Maryland for thirty-three years before retiring in 2009. Frank was a world traveler and had been to seven continents. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Staten Island, NY. He also, was a member of the United Methodist Church of Basking Ridge. Predeceased by his parents Frank Kerney and Marguerite (Vanderbilt) Kerney; brother Neil V. Kerney and his sisters Elizabeth Taylor and Marguerite Miller. Surviving is his beloved wife Judith (Toomey) Kerney; his son Frank Kerney, Jr. and his wife Julie; his daughters Melinda Bezozo and her husband Richard Bezozo, MD and Elizabeth Kerney; eight grandchildren Frank H. Kerney, III, Esq., Megan and Kaitlinn Kerney, Leah, Alexandra, Shayna Bezozo and Katherine and Shannon Greger. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. with an 8 p.m. service at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
