Obituary of Jane Saums

Jane Saums, 86, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at Manor Care in New Providence. Born and raised in North Plainfield, she lived in Plainfield after her marriage in 1949, remaining until 1961 when she moved to Warren. Jane was employed as a secretary for Kingston-Connelly in North Plainfield for many years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in South Plainfield and a past member of the Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church in North Plainfield. In addition, she was a board member of the Warren Historic Society as well as various other historical societies in the area. She was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution. Jane loved genealogy and gardening. Her husband, John Saums predeceased her in 1999. Surviving are a daughter, Loree Saums of Warren; a brother, William Strandberg of VA; a sister, Ruth Lehlbach of North Plainfield; 9 nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by interment at Rural Hills Cemetery in Whitehouse. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
