Obituary of Mary J. Van Benschoten

Warren: Mary J. Van Benschoten, age 76, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was born to Mr. And Mrs. Christ Ulmer in Llewellyn, PA. She was a Warren resident for more than 50 years. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University and became a Physical Education teacher in Piscataway. Mrs. Van Benschoten was a member the Eastern Star of PA and was a past president of the Washington Valley Garden Club. She loved her family and household activities, and enjoyed aerobic dancing. Mrs. Van Benschoten is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Edgar H. Van Benschoten; her daughter, Kris Kupersmith and her husband, Paul; her son, Craig Van Benschoten and his wife, Lynn and her four grandchildren, Erick, Amy, Kurt and Ella. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 12 noon at Grabowski Funeral Home, 75 Memorial Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA followed by interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, PA. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung and on Monday from 11 to 12 noon at the Grabowski Funeral Home located at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
