To my uncle Gene, my heartache knowing I can't call you for advice, vent, or talk sports will be there until I see you again in heaven. I will never forget you teaching me football and the ny giants before anyone was born. You brought me home in a downpour after I was born. The list goes on forever and I would do anything to hold you once more. You said I was your favourite, whether true or not you are always mine. Know I will do anything for Ben, Mike and Aunt Carol as you did for all!

Gene was a kind, caring, loving, and wonderful Godfather. I am so sorry to hear of your passing. Throughout the 28 years that I have known Gene, he has always bestowed his wisdom and guidance upon me every time we joined in celebration. Whether it is a birthday (I will never forget the time he sent me a card and it said, “Dear Brain”), sacrament ceremony, college graduation, or my commissioning as an Officer into the United States Army, Gene never missed a beat. He will truly be missed and never forgotten. Thanks for all that you have done for me Uncle Gene. May you rest in peace.
Your Loving Godson,
Bryan Rapuano

Gene has been one of my father's best friends since boyhood. He was my father's best man. From my earliest childhood memories I can remember calling Gene, "Uncle Genie"... What an honor it was, even though we weren't blood. Gene was always there for my family when it mattered most. When my father had a heart attack: Gene was there. He told me if there was anything I needed... anything at all... When my father had a stroke: Gene was there. Again he told me - He was there for me... He brought me comfort. My wedding: most happily, Gene was there. And with his gentle smile and broad humor he gave my husband his thumbs up. He always knew just what to say, just when to say it, and with all the heart he had to give. He was a true mensch: A great man. He always brought joy. When any member of my family has ever needed him for the slightest, Gene was there. Carol and family: I hope that my family and I can return the love and support to you in this time of your deepest sorrow. We share your loss and will miss Gene terribly. He will live on in fond memories with me and my family for generations to come. With love and care ~ the Moore Family.

You cant ask for more loving Uncle and Godfather than my Uncle Gene. We both shared a deep pasion for sports and truely loved the Giants and the Yankees. Just a few years back I remember crying on the phone with him when the Giants won the Super Bowl. Some say that was a bit dramtatic but that was a special moment i will never forget. Football is something I will always have in common with him. I will continue to watch the Giants every Sunday and I know he will be watching with me as well. Uncle Gene lived up to every expectation a Godfather could live up to. When I was just a kid he promised me he would buy me a a varsity jacket if I lettered in Highschool sports. Thanks for my jacket Uncle Gene! I always loved making him proud and I will continue to do so in running my business as well as he ran his. I will try to work as hard as he did and one day take care of my family in the way that he did. I am proud to be your nephew and glad that we shared so much in common. My Uncle Gene was a beatiful man with a heart made of solid gold. I will always remember him as the "best". Love your Godson Matt

Gene,
We thought of you with love today,
A beautiful garden now stands alone, missing the one who nurtured it. But now you are gone, your flowers will still bloom, and the sun will still shine,But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind. The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
He loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love he would plant with each little seed,
But just like his flowers he was part of Gods plan,
So when it was his time he reached down his hand,
He look through the Garden searching for the BEST,
That's when he found Gene, it was his time to rest,
It is hard for those who love him, to just let him go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul. So when you start missing Gene, remember if you just wait,When God has a spot in his garden, he will meet you at the gate....
Our love and prayers are with all of you at this time.
