Obituary of Anna Vumbaca

Anna Vumbaca, age 94, died on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Ashbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotch Plains. Born in Elizabeth, she resided in Newark, Hillside and Avenel before moving to Warren in 2002. Mrs. Vumbaca enjoyed the slot machines at Atlantic City, playing bingo and dancing at the Westwood with the Woodbridge Township Senior Citizens. She was a wonderful baker known for her coconut layer cake. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Vumbaca in 1982 and her daughter, Marie Lebo in 2001. Surviving are her daughters, Carol Martin of Newport Beach, Ca, Barbara Castagno and her husband, Robert of Warren, and Joyce Kyprianou and her husband Kyp of Morganville; her son-in-law, Richard Lebo of Bridgewater; her sister, Lena Ferrara of Elizabeth; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by an 10:15 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel, Warren and interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rahway. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
