Obituary of Sophie J. Darish

Sophie J. Darish, age 91, died on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Perth Amboy and had lived in Plainfield for most of her life before moving to Middlesex 10 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was a Quality Control Technician for RCA in Bridgewater for many years. Mrs. Darish was a communicant and member of the Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Church in Plainfield. She enjoyed baking for her family and church events and was a member of the Union County Travelling Seniors. Mrs. Darish was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Darish in 1986 and her son, Joseph Darish in 2006. Surviving are her son, Frank Darish and his wife, Barbara of Readington; her daughters, Denise Schroeder and her husband , Gary of Cape Coral, FL formerly of Rahway, NJ and Diane McFadden and her husband, Clark of Readington; her daughter-in-law, Ellen Darish; her grandchildren, Jason Darish and his wife, Shannon, Jeffrey Darish and his wife, Kelly, Sarah Darish, Paul O'Sullivan and his wife, Amy, Lauren Mayse and her husband, Joshua, Lindsay Campanelli and her husband, James and Randi Schroeder. Also surviving are her three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Campanelli and Daniel and Jacob Darish. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 20th at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Bernard's / St. Stanislaus Church in Plainfield. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
