Obituary of Frank Carter Dresdale, MD
Frank Dresdale, M.D. age 87, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Englewood, NJ and was a long time Plainfield resident.
Dr. Dresdale served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Brown University in 1945 and his Medical Degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1947. He was a member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Society. He interned at the Columbia Division at Bellevue Hospital in NYC and did his residency at White Plains Hospital in New York. He was a Medical Fellow at the Lahey Clinic in Boston.
Dr. Dresdale was a Senior Attending Staff Physician at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center and a Clinical Professor at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick. He also had been a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He had a private practice in Plainfield from 1954 to 1993. During his long career, he was the President of the Union County Medical Society and was a member of the American College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He was a member of Temple Sholom in Fanwood. He was extremely dedicated to his family and patients.
He was predeceased by his son, John R. Dresdale in 1954 and his brothers, David T. Dresdale and Fred S. Dresdale.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Rothseid Dresdale; his children, Dr. Arthur Robert Dresdale, Richard C. Dresdale and Diane Elizabeth Dresdale; his grandchildren, Marcella Elizabeth Dresdale, Richard Conrad Dresdale, Jr., Michael Brennan Dresdale, Anna Sage Dresdale Rogoff, Marielle Rose Dresdale Rogoff and Wyatt Carter Dresdale Rogoff.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rabbi Joel Abraham officiating at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at B'Nai Jeshurun Cemetery in Hillside.
