Obituary of Paul McPherson

Paul McPherson, age 78, died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at his home. Born in Newark, he was raised in Union, lived in Piscataway for 8 years, Watchung for 35 years before residing in Long Beach Township and Florida for the last 10 years. Paul was the Comptroller with American Reinsurance Co. in New York City for 25 years and most recently with MBIA in White Plains, NY. He also served as treasurer of the Englewood Community. A graduate of Ryder University, he also served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Loyalty Chapter of Masonic Order in Union for 50 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing for fluke, trout and golfing. Surviving is his wife Marcia G. "Dreesen" McPherson; son Mark and his wife Bonnie; daughters Cheryl and Michelle; brother Robert and his wife Julia; sister Carol and her husband Jack; 6 grandchildren Heather, Andrew, Lindsay, Ryan, Connor and Emma; 1 great-grandchild Lyla. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 16th at 10:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Interment is at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
