Obituary of James Francis Gould

James Francis Gould, age 90, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Plainfield, he grew up in Elizabeth and lived in Clark for forty-seven years before moving to Basking Ridge. Prior to retiring James was a Plumber with the Woodbridge State School in Avenel for eighteen years. He served in the Navy during WWII. A longtime parishioner of St. John the Apostle Church and member of the Knights of Columbus in Linden. In his spare time he loved woodworking, cabinetry and working with tools. Predeceased by his wife Margaret Matthews Gould in 1990, and his brothers George and William Gould. Surviving is his daughter Eileen Boylan and her husband Brian; grandchildren Christopher, Deirdre, Brendan and Allison Boylan; and his sister Marian Clay. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31st at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Church in Linden. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery.
