Obituary of George Cennen Campbell

George C. Campbell, 86, died Monday, December 27, 2010 in Oldsmar, Fla. Born in Jamaica Plain, MA, he attended the Wentworth Institute, Boston, MA before enlisting in the US Navy serving aboard the USS Wasp during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Storr Ritchie Post 506, Plainfield. He retired as chief from the Plainfield Police Dept after 22 years of service followed by 6 years in NJ state law enforcement. He will be greatly missed by his family and remembered for his strength and guidance with which to live our lives. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Doris V. Campbell (Young); his children, Judith and her husband Jeremiah Wilson, Susan and her husband Timothy Caulfield, George and his wife Pam, Keith and his wife Jane, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 12-3 pm at Higgins Home For Funerals, 209 W. 8th St. Plainfield.
