Obituary of Burton Helgeson

Burton H. Helgeson, age 79, died on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Largo Medical Center in Largo, FL. He was born in Staten Island and had lived in Berkeley Heights for 40 years before moving to Indian Rocks Beach, FL. Mr. Helgeson served in the United States Army in the post Korean War era. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Wagner College in Staten Island and his Master's Degree in Business Administration from NYU. Mr. Helgeson worked for ADP in Clifton, NJ and was an executive recruiter for his own business, B.H.H. Associates in Berkeley Heights. He also consulted with American Management Association for many years. Mr. Helgeson enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, singing in groups, like the Celebration Singers and was a church soloist. His four sons and ten grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is predeceased by his wife, Alice Helgeson and his brother, Howard Helgeson. Surviving are his sons Steven and his wife Lynn of Roanoke, VA, Keith and his wife Valerie of Oklahoma City, OK, Eric and his wife Nicole of Clarkston, MI and Craig and his wife Linda of Warren, NJ; 10 Grandchildren, Zack, Scott, Jennifer, Tucker, Jared, Jan, Benjamin, Andrew, Emily and Mary Alice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Congregational Church, 105 Mountainview Road, Warren, NJ 07050 or to the charity of your choice.
