Obituary of Gaylord Gordon Keets

Gaylord Keets, 69, of Scotch Plains, died on Saturday February 5, 2011, in Gastonia, NC. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of "Jerseyland". Gaylord had recently retired to North Carolina to be nearer his children and grandchildren. Gaylord worked for Koppers Inc., in Westfield for over 20 years and later Auto Sport Honda in Bridgewater. He loved Jerseyland . he loved fishin' . he loved 'dem Cowboys . he loved Doo-Wop . he loved the Temptations . he loved his family . he loved old movies . he loved Enee . he loved Christmas . he loved picking up his grandsons from school . he loved his La-Z-Boy . he loved hangin' out at the Elks with his boys . he loved his girl, Punkin' . he loved life. Gaylord is survived by his wife, Louise "Punkin' " Keets; daughters Teresa Keets-Byrd, Dawn Donaldson, and Heather Keets Wright; his sons-in-law: Frank Byrd, Irvin Donaldson and Mark W. Wright; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and six siblings: Johnny, Tony, Bonnie, Lenny (deceased), Carlos and Charlene. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 9:30 AM at St. John Baptist Church in Scotch Plains, with services immediately following at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield, NJ 07060.
