"Uncle Matt" was an amazing man. All of us know how intelligent he was, but more importantly he used that knowledge to help others time and time again. We are all better from his gift of knowledge to us. My memories of Uncle Matt were of the parties at this house when I was a boy. They were always a lot of fun. Also how he talked to my Mother on the phone over the years and was always there to answer her questions about anything. Before this picture, I never saw him with gray hair - to me his hair was always jet black. We love you and miss you Uncle Matt

To my good friend Matt: you went about your life with a wonderful combination of intellectual curiosity, boundless creative energy, genuine interest and love for others, a wonderful sense of humor, and great humility. Along the way, without realizing it, you touched countless lives helping others without being asked or expecting anything in return. When you saw a need you stepped in to take care of it, without hesitating like so many people do. It was truly an honor to know you Matt, I will always remember you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Say hello to Adeline for me!!

Matt used his time on earth well, with such a full and meaningful life it seems that condolences are out of place. I was fortunate to know Matt through work, where he shared his many years of experience with all of us at Bell Labs. As a young graduate, I thought I knew everything; but Matt showed me how much more I still needed to learn. I still remember all the good advise he gave me when we bought our first home.

Becoming acquainted with Mr. Grubelich was quite an honor. Though I knew him only a short time, I was able to see how impressive of a man he was. I got to sit across from the table a few times at the Glassman's home and admired his wit and sharp intellect. He treated my family with kindness and respect. He will be missed.
