Obituary of Sr. Margaret Bulfin

Sister Margaret Bulfin (former Sister Mary Mechtilde), Sister of Mercy Sister Margaret, 84 died peacefully on February 21, 2011 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung, NJ. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1943 and received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Georgian Court College, Lakewood, NJ and an MA degree in Education from Villanova, PA. Through the years, she ministered in the Dioceses of Trenton, Metuchen and Camden. She taught at St. Nicholas School, Atlantic City; St Mary School, Bordentown where she served as Principal; St Catherine School, East Keansburg where she also served as teacher and Principal; St Joseph School, North Plainfield; St Mary School, South Amboy; St Paul School, Princeton and St Francis Cathedral School, Metuchen. She enjoyed several years in retirement at Our Lady Star of the Sea Convent in Atlantic City. She moved to McAuley Hall in 2009. She is survived by her niece Mary Ellen (Tippi) Luthy who lovingly refers to her as "the best Aunt in the world" and a nephew Bill Hammond both from California, many loving, caring friends and the Sisters of Mercy in the Mid-Atlantic Community. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 8:30 to 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 2851 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ. Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church at the above address.
