Obituary of Ralph J. Gore

Ralph J. Gore, age 88, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville NJ. Born in Cambridge MA, Mr. Gore grew up in Whiting and Lakewood NJ. He resided in Plainfield for the past 44 years.

Prior to retiring Mr. Gore was a truck driver for over 30 years at Safeway Trucking in Port Elizabeth NJ.

He was a member of Fountain Baptist Church in Summit NJ. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army. His passion was driving trucks. He loved dancing, and most of all sneaking snacks.

He is predeceased by his parents Johnson and Gertrude Gore. His daughter Betty Grimes-Gore, step-daughter Darriel Martin, and great granddaughter Ajee Anderson.

Surviving are his wife Ann (Collier) Gore of 44 years; two daughters Ethel Daniels and Dana Gore-Nelson; a step daughter Renee Sanderson, step son Jerry Hodge, and his favorite brother-in-law Arthur Lee Collier. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren ,3 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Higgins Home for Funerals 209 West 8th St. Plainfield NJ. The visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 7pm-9 pm & Tuesday March 15, 2011 from 9:30 am - 10:30 am. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown NJ. Floral Arrangement can be sent to Higgins Funeral Home.
