Obituary of Carmelo Joseph Lo Giudice

Carmelo J. Lo Giudice, age 80, died on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He was born and raised in New York City, lived in Jersey City until 2001 and most recently resided in Bridgewater. Mr. Lo Giudice was a District Claim Manager for Conrail for 45 years. He was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Martinsville VFW Post 6588 and served as Treasurer for the CNJ Railroad Veterans Association. Mr. Lo Giudice is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carmel (Nee Del Monte); his three sons, Dean and his wife Valentina, Dr. Robert and his wife Susan, and John and his wife Francesca; his five grandchildren, Ariana, Robert, Carmelo, Joseph, and Anthony; one brother Philip; one sister Rosalie Graham. Carmelo is predeceased by two brothers, Paul and John; one sister Frances De Stefano. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069 followed by a 11:00 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Anne's Church in Jersey City. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm only.
