Obituary of Richard B. Lee
Richard B. Lee (R.B., Dick), 80, died April 6, 2011 at Kindred Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson, Rahway, NJ. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11th, at 8:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield ( www.sjnp.org). Interment will follow at St. Mary's Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Born in Herkimer, New York, May 11, 1930, to Wilbur and Esther Lee, R.B. was a graduate of Utica College, and a former member of the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy, R.B. lived in Buffalo, New York, where he began his career with the Boy Scouts of America, before relocating to North Plainfield with his family. He proudly served the Boy Scouts in various roles for more than 50 years, until his retirement in 1995.
He was previously a member of the Jaycees, the Knights of Columbus, the North Plainfield Board of Education, and the Rotary Club, as well as a current member of the Elizabeth Host Lion's Club and Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield. He also proudly served on the Keiser-Pong Board of Directors since its inception in 2001.
R.B. was pre-deceased by his first wife, Rosemarie Lee, and is survived by his wife, Florence; his children, Cindi and Jeff Sammons, Teri Lee, Ben and Melissa Keiser, Dawn and Bryan Duggan, and Joe Keiser and fianc Jacqueline Karakos; his granddaughters, Katie and Lauren Sammons; and his brother, Jack Lee.
