Obituary of Lilac Wolken

Lilac Wolken, age 90, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at her home in Warren. She was born in North Bergen, lived in Hudson County and for the last 61 years lived in Warren. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was a secretary for the Warren Middle School. For 25 years, she was a secretary throughout the Warren School District. Mrs. Wolken enjoyed spending time with her friends going to lunch and was an avid reader. She is predeceased by her husband, George Wolken in 1986. Surviving are her son, George Wolken, Jr of Mountainview, CA; her daughter, Pamela Wolken of Arcadia, CA; her grandchildren, Jill Wolken and her husband, Jack Debertin of WI, Daniel Wolken of CO., and Michael Wolken and his fianc Stacy Shomper of OH; her great granddaughter, Dannika Debertin and an expected great grandson. She is also survived by her cousins, Robert, Janet and Gina Worman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be on Monday from 7-9 pm only.
