Obituary of James R. Cassidy
James R. Cassidy, age 88, died on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Hazlet in1957 where he lived for 45 years before moving to Florida.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked for the New York Times for 50 years as an Executive in the Accounting Pension Dept.
Mr. Cassidy was a member of St. Benedict's R.C. Church in Holmdel for 45 years.
He was a kind, loving man who loved his family. He loved reading, writing and the beach, especially swimming.
Mr. Cassidy is predeceased by his wife, Mildred Cassidy in 2007 and by 11 siblings.
Surviving are his sons, James Cassidy, John Cassidy and his wife, Cathy; his daughters, Nancy Klose and her husband, Michael and Karen Cassidy. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, May 31st at 8:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary's Stony Hill Church. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Monday from 7 to 9 pm only. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
