Obituary of Eduardo A. Leaty

Eduardo Alcides Leaty, age 47, died at JFK Mediacl Center in Edison, NJ on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Born Oct. 20, 1963 in City of Moron, Cuba, Mr. Leaty was a lifelong resident of Plainfield, NJ. Like his father, he was an entrepreneur and re-opened Leaty Grocery in Plainfield in 2009. Mr. Leaty was a U.S. Army Ranger from 1981 to 1991 and was a Black Belt in several forms of martial arts. He enjoyed fishing and bodt-building but most of all, he loved spending time with his children and family. He was a kindhearted and strong willed individual who looked out for others. He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Margie; children, Doug, Jessica and Justa; his mother, Justa; his brothers, Ernesto and Ricardo and his sister, Marilyn Leaty-Nieves. Eduardo Leaty was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto A. Leaty and a host of family and friends. Friends and family are invited to Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield at on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Talk. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Cremation is private.
