Obituary of Vera J. Sikora

Vera Sikora, age 63, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her home in Tewksbury surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elizabeth and raised in Hillside. After getting married in 1976, she moved to Martinsville where she lived with her family for 23 years. In 1999 they moved to Tewksbury. Mrs. Sikora was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale. She was the President of the Sky Crest Women's Club of Martinsville and a member of the Tewksbury Women's Club. She organized the 1st Community of Lights for the holiday season in Tewksbury. She loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Mae Nolan and her brother, James Nolan. Mrs. Sikora is survived by her husband, Frederick; her son, Douglas and his wife, Jennifer, sons, Matthew and Christopher; daughter, Kaitlyn; her brother and sister Thomas and Mary Nolan. Also surviving are her granddaughters, Nina and Mia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, July 16th at 8:30 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road Annandale. Entombment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
