Anne & David,
My sister, Vivian, and I were saddened to read of Cullen's death. We are their Avila cottage neighbors, around the corner slightly to the northeast of your folk's cottage. We can easily see the thriving forsythia bush Shirley planted at the corner of their patio - a continuing spring reminder of her very positive attitude that's visible from our breakfast room window.
We send our prayers along with our condolences, as well as some fond memories from the time Shirley & Cullen were here - including those of a gorgeous cake you brought one time and shared with us.
