Obituary of Regina B. Wilson

Regina Bennett Wilson passed away peacefully on September 13, 2011 in Corte Madera, California, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 15, 1920 in Plainfield, NJ, to Mary Elizabeth Traynor Bennett and Joseph Bennett. She was a graduate of Plainfield High School and Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). She married the late Grover J. Wilson on July 29, 1944 and was blessed with nearly 64 years of marriage until Grover's death in 2008. With a passion for children, she was a dedicated elementary school teacher for most of her adult life. Regina and Grover were the loving parents of two children, the late Grover Craig Wilson and Anne Wilson. Regina and Grover raised their family in Gillette and then Warren, before retiring to Cape Coral, Florida. Regina retired from Gillette School as a fourth grade teacher having nurtured hundreds of children over the years. Nothing pleased her more than being greeted around town by former students with warm hugs and appreciation. She deeply loved teaching and recalled her years in the classroom fondly for the rest of her life. "Once a teacher always a teacher," she would say as she corrected the grammar of anyone who needed it, right up to her final days. She moved to California three years ago following the passing of her husband to be close to her daughter, Anne Wilson, her son-in-law, Richard Cohn and their children, Ryan and Grace. She leaves also daughter-in-law Barbara Wilson, grandsons Tim, Ted, and Bennett Wilson, as well as granddaughter in -law, Karlie Wilson, and new great-grandson, Jacob Grover Wilson.
