Obituary of Maryann Smart

Maryann Smart, age 46, died on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Bridgewater and Piscataway before moving to Martinsville 10 years ago. Prior to retiring Maryann was the Director of Finance for Telcordia Technologies in Piscataway from 1982 until 1999. She was a graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth in 1993, with a BA in Business Arts. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, especially to warm places like the Caribbean. Maryann recently learned to sail and was captain of "Aquamarine". She was a proud member of the National Honor Society. Maryann was a loving mother who enjoyed every minute with her children, husband and her Maltese Sweetie. Predeceased by her father Joe Zur in 2003. Surviving is her loving husband of twenty years Stewart; her daughter Kim and her son Brian; her mother Audrey and her brothers George and Joe Zur; many loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Martinsville. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
