Obituary of Charles Shoolis

Charles Shoolis, age 48, died suddenly on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his home in Martinsville. Born in Palisades Park, NJ, he resided in Ringoes before moving to Martinsville over 15 years ago. He was a 1985 graduate of Upsala College in East Orange, NJ where he received a BA in Political Science and History. For the past 11 years he was working as a sales associate at Home Depot in Bridgewater and also had worked part time for Bed Bath and Beyond in Bridgewater. Charles is predeceased by his father, Steven Shoolis and his sister, Patricia Toula Makris in 2008. Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Maria Sabo Shoolis; his mother, Hady Shoolis; a sister, Irene Makris and her husband, Demetri, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. from Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway. Interment will follow at St. Bernard's RC Cemetery in Bridgewater. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
