Obituary of Robert Maroney

Robert Maroney, 69, died Saturday, September 24, 2012 at Care One at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Linden before moving to North Plainfield 40 years ago. Robert attended Raritan Valley Community College and was a US Air Force Veteran. Prior to retiring in 2007, he was employed as a field Computer Engineer for Qualxserv in North Plainfield for over ten years. He previously worked for General Electric and Honeywell for many years. Robert enjoyed organic gardening and spending time at the Jersey shore with his family. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Frances Maroney; a son, Ryan Maroney of North Plainfield; a daughter, Jennifer Maroney and her husband, Derek Daly, both of City Island, NY; a brother, Thomas Maroney of NJ, two sisters, Mary and her husband, Armen Kachoogian of Harvey Cedars, NJ and Kathleen and her husband, Thomas Blank of Eugene, OR; three grandchildren, Ronan, Oisin and Cian; his niece, Laura Powers and her husband Prescott, and two nephews, Daniel Kachoogian and his wife, Diane and Gregory Kachoogian. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm with a 5:30 pm Funeral Service at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Cremation private.
