Obituary of Petros Kyriakos Pagonis

Mr. Petros Kyriakos Pagonis, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in the presence of his family at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Petros was born in Kalivia Karyes, Greece, and spent most of his childhood in Athens before moving to the United States in the 70's. Petros lived in North Plainfield for over 30 years before moving to Manville two years ago. Prior to retiring, he was employed at and owned various restaurants in New Jersey. He was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Petros enjoyed watching his favorite soccer team Olympiakos and spending time with his close friends. One of the biggest joys of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. His beautiful sister, Georga Rentoulis predeceased him. Surviving are his loving wife, Parthena Pagonis; his son, Kyriakos Pagonis and his wife, Margaret and his two grandchildren, Zoe and Kio, all of Arlington, VA; his daughter Basilike Betsy Pagonis of Manville; his brother-in-law, Nick Rentoulis; his niece, Matina Speronza and nephew, Dino Rentoulis. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 9:30 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:30 am Service at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway and interment at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation to be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
