Obituary of Anthony Santo

Anthony (Tony) Santo, 89, formally of Watchung, NJ, died on November 23, 2011 in Florida. Mr. Santo was born and raised in Watchung, NJ and had resided in Watchung his whole life before moving to Venice, FL in 2009. Tony served in the US Navy during WW II on the destroyer, USS Wilkes. He was the owner/operator of Santo Gardeners in Watchung. He was also a member of the Watchung Senior Citizens. Mr. Santo is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Angelina (Ann) Santo, Son, Anthony Santo Jr., a brother Carl Santo and four sisters Mildred Pepe, Carmella Ruggerio, Rose Santo, and Loretta Verini He is survived by his daughter Carol Ann McIvers of Venice FL; grandchildren Tammy & Kevin Piwoski of Belvidere, NJ and Peter Todd & Cassandra McIvers of Rotonda West, FL. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren Kevin, Heather and Joshua and a great-great granddaughter, Layla. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Stony Hill R.C. Church in Watchung. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
