Obituary of Mary M. Rivera

Bedminster: Mary M. Rivera, age 64, died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in Lewiston, New York. Born and raised in New York, Mary then resided in New Providence and most recently has lived in Bedminster. Mary became a registered nurse after graduating from St. Vincent's in New York City in 1967 and has been a registered nurse for her whole career. Most recently she had worked for Dr. Manoj Trivedi in Summit and Morristown. Mrs. Rivera was a member of Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls. Mary's life was rich with family and friends, and she took great joy in her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry M. Rivera in 1982. Surviving are her children Craig Rivera and his wife Lisa of Lewiston, NY and Christine Rivera-Verpoest and her husband Frederik and their two sons Evan and Lucas of London, U.K.; and her brother, John D'Esopo of Springfield, VA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at Higgins Home For Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, Cedar Knolls. Interment will follow at St. Theresa's Cemetery, Summit. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
