Obituary of Morton R. Jorgensen

Morton R. Jorgensen, age 89, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at his home in Watchung. Born in Oslo, Norway he immigrated with his family to the United States in 1950. He resided in Hillside and Union before moving to Watchung 4 years ago. Prior to retiring Morton was a mechanic with Eastern Airlines at Newark Airport for twenty-five years. In his spare time he enjoyed fixing cars and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Eva Marie Machin-Heunermund in 2002. Surviving is his wife of 63 years Frida (Syversen) Jorgensen of Watchung; his daughter Grete Machin and her husband Joseph of Watchung; a grandson Joseph Machin and his wife Nancy of Holland Twp. NJ; great-grandsons Brandon and Aidan Machin and Steven and Joey Heunermund of Watchung; a brother-in-law Helge Johansen and sister-in-law Edith Johansen both of New Port Richey, FL a niece and a nephew. Entombment will be on Thursday, December 29th at 1:00 pm at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung.
