Obituary of Virginia L. Smith

Watchung: Virginia L. Smith, 74, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. Born and raised in South Plainfield, she resided there until 1963 when she and her husband moved to Watchung. Prior to retiring, she was employed for 27 years as a guidance secretary for Watchung Hills Regional High School in Watchung. A member of Wilson Memorial Union Church in Watchung, Ginny enjoyed traveling with her friends, playing cards, spending time with her family and the beach. Surviving are her husband, David J. Smith; three daughters, Susan Ross and her husband Gregory of Warren, Laurie Bell and her husband Skip of Watchung and Wendy Kupper of Bridgewater and six grandchildren, Cory, Steven, Valerie, Shane, Lauren and Kaitlyn. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. At the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11 am followed by interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
