Obituary of Laurence A Tishler
Laurence A. Tishler, 84, of NYC died peacefully at home on January 21, 2012. Born in Rochester, NY, he joined the Marine Corp., at 17, near the end of WWII. After the War was over he followed his dreams of becoming a stage actor, attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He left the stage in 1953 to begin a long and successful career in the trailer industry. That career culminated in the start of a family business in 1980. Intermodal Equipment Parts, Inc., based in Elizabeth, NJ is currently run by sons Tony, Peter, and daughter, Elaine.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Jeanette, his wife Anne (Cohen) and his brother, Hace.
He is survived by daughters, Elaine (Marc) Marshall, Leslie (Robert) Murray and sons Tony (Diane) Tishler and Peter (Randi) Tishler. He is also survived by grandchildren; Katie, Stephen, Zach, Max, Dylan, Megan, Alex and Molly.
Funeral arrangements were made by Higgins Home For Funerals, Watchung, NJ. Friends and family may pay respects on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 4-7 p.m.
